Every student depends on the district to provide a safe and enriching learning environment. The current plan to open schools on a schedule which still place our children in enclosed rooms without any changes to the ventilation systems. Schools should not be opening until it can be done so in a responsible way, under the guidance of professionals in the area of virus control. That has not been done here in Southern Nevada. That aside, if classes resume, it is up to the district to make sure that sports and performing arts are not cancelled, as seems to be on the table. This is my proposal to CCSD on how to safely restart those programs. I suggest a review by medical professionals before adopting any of these strategies.
